Q.

Why does Gulf Coast Systems manufacture product in inches and feet instead of metric dimensions?

A.

Contractors are used to working in inches and feet. They tell us they will often estimate the amount of material required on a job by counting off ceiling tiles or floor tiles. So with our products, it is easier to get the right amount of material without doing conversions to metric dimensions

Q.

Why do I want Wire Cable Tray instead of traditional, 2-rail cable tray?

A. Regular cable tray requires factory made fittings for bends, tees, and crosses. It is almost impossible to plan for all of the surprises that pop up on a job site. By using Gulf Coast Systems’ Wire Cable Tray, all changes in direction and elevation can be made quickly and cost-effectively at the site.
Q.

Can’t I just leave the cables lying on top of the ceiling tiles (or on the concrete floor)?

A. Code changes do not allow cable to be piled on the ceiling tiles.
Q. Is there an easy way to show my people at a site how to make bends, tees, etc?
A.

Check the Gulf Coast Systems’ web site (www.gulfcoastsystems.com) for the Installation Guide. You can also email us to request our suggestions to best handle your application.

Q.

Can we get Wire Cable Tray painted to match our equipment?

A.

Gulf Coast Systems uses a standard finish: electro-zinc plated. We also offer powder coating. Many colors can be special ordered.

Q.

How do I know what hardware/accessories I will need for my job?

A.

Check the Gulf Coast Systems’ web site for our Installation Guide. We are dedicated to making your job easier. If you think there is a better way to solve an application problem, let us know. If you are uncertain about which hardware or accessory to use, email us or give us a call.

Q.

We are working in an industrial environment; will Wire Cable Tray work?

A.

Wire Cable Tray is a terrific solution to many cable management issues that arise in an industrial application. By being able to change direction and elevation without factory-built fittings, Wire Cable Tray has the "lowest installed cost."

Q.

What do I need for installation in an outdoor environment or in a highly corrosive environment?

A.

Standard finish, i.e. electro-zinc plating, is for indoor use. Hot dipped galvanizing is available for outdoor use. For corrosive environments, wire cable tray is available in stainless steel. If you are uncertain about which product is correct for your application, email us or give us a call.

Q.

What other applications for Wire Cable tray should I look for?

A.

Wire cable tray is most commonly used in the horizontal plane. There are many times when using Gulf Coast Systems’ tray in vertical applications solves many cable management problems. Also, rack mounting Wire Cable Tray, both horizontal and vertical, provides an excellent cable management system without the need for costly "rack-specific" accessories.

Q.

How can I get a quote on my bill of materials?

A.

Just email Gulf Coast Systems your bill of materials, and one of our technical support staff will work with you on a quote.

Q.

Do you have any engineering support available?

A.

"Engineered for Contractors" is more than our motto; it is our operating philosophy. Just let us know how we can help you land a new client, solve an application problem, or just improve your overall cable management.

Q.

I think I have an idea to improve your products – or an idea for a new cable management product. How can I get you to look at my idea?

A.

Gulf Coast Systems develops and designs products only with the installer in mind. Your ideas on how to improve cable management systems are a top priority for us. Email, fax, or send us the napkin that you sketched on. We’ll use it if we can. Even if we can’t use your idea, we will send you a token of our appreciation.

Q.

Does Gulf Coast Systems have other cable management products available?

A.

Check the Gulf Coast Systems’ web site for additional product lines. We are committed to offering a complete line of cable management products with you, the contractor/installer, in mind.

Q.

What does "Engineered for Contractors" mean?

A.

"Engineered for Contractors" is our mission statement, motto, and design criteria all rolled up together. We design products with the emphasis on installation - to lower installed cost - and what is best for your business and your clients.

Q.

When you refer to "lower installed cost," does that mean cheapest?

A.

Lower installed cost means that our products save you money - less labor, less overhead, and fewer callbacks.
